MM Vol 1 - 117 - Blink 182

MM Vol 1 #117

Blink 182

"Dammit"

(1997)
.
Genre:Alt Punk
Early on, who would have guessed Blink 182 would become in '97 alter ego punk driven to "state of the art, clever, musically enhanced, genius driven sound" to what they are today in '06?
Like you, I thought Blink 182 were your everyday new age punk band who would flip a hit and move on to obscurity. Wrong.
So wrong. Their last album bordered, to me, brilliance. Not in a long time have i seen/heard a group mature between albums so quick and so professionally and a "sound" like they invented a genre all on their own.
"Dammit" is their earlier stuff, yes, but here, you can hear the future. Its all about growth and sound. Damn it, this is where "The Cure" should have been 15 years ago... the top of fraggin' Everest. To be honest i have no issues with Blink 182 hoisting the flag on the mountain.
This song has a crowbarred rating of 67.6 out of 108
