MM Vol 1 - 136 - Prince

Genre:Pop
Prince was way ahead of his time really, back in '84 alot of us didn't really know how to take Prince, we didn't know if he was Glam pop or Shock pop. When you hear him now, i understand why he was so great. His style of music back then was 15 years to early. You also have to admire him for the way he never picked a fight with his main rival of that time, Michael Jackson, other than his song "My Name Is Prince" where he cries "You have to be a Prince before you are a King anyway". (Michael was always refered as "The King of Pop) Personally i still think his music even from today is well ahead of its time and if he does not go down as one of the "Greatest Performers Of The Twentieth Century ever", then i guess Rolling Stone will have had said something not for it to happen. (And before you comment .... yes i know Rolling Stone hang on to his very shoelaces in admiration)
I have only one regret about Prince, he gave away the guitar far to early. Tragic even, he was pretty amazing.
