The Calling

"Wherever You May Go"

(2001)

Genre:Alt Rock
I was living in Whangarei when this song came out. It was one of those songs that made sense when life was more confusing than a Shortland Street script. I was living somewhere where i didnt want to be and my goal was once i finished my tour of duty it would enable me to go somewhere, well, somewhere where i wanted to go. "If i could, then i would, i will go wherever you go" play the lryics. It beacame my mantra in a shitty place, doing shitty work. Irony is, that the shitty work was actually really the best thing to happen to me, it made me fit, mean and filled me with a world of hopes and ideas. Some of them i kept.
Sometimes its better to have "honest" work, than trying to work at being "honest".
The Calling is a rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band was formed by Alex Band (vocals) and Aaron Kamin (guitars) when Kamin was dating Band's sister. After forming, Band and Kamin were signed to a development deal with RCA. As the band advanced, Sean Woolstenhulme (b. March 1, 1981, in Gilbert, Arizona, U.S.A.) (guitars), Billy Mohler (bass) and Nate Wood (b. October 3, 1979) (drums) were added as extra musicians, and The Calling's first album was recorded. Issued in July 2001, Camino Palmero became a hit, due to the strength of its single, "Wherever You Will Go," first featured prominently at the end of the second episode in the first season of the TV series Smallville, Metamorphosis Band and Kamin (without Wood, Woolstenhulme, and Mohler) returned in June 2004 with Two. In June 2005, the band took a break. Alex Band has told reporters he has plans for a solo album.

The band are reunited again, and working on their third album, which will have release date for November 2007.~ [Source:Wikipedia]
