Savage Honeymoon
Normally, New Zealand films suck like rotten tomatoes. Now before you rant and rave how great Lord Of The Rings is, remember those films are more American than they are Kiwi. There have been a handful of other great Kiwi films though, Quiet Earth, Smash Palace & of course the epic effort .. Once Were Warriors. Savage Honeymoon has been regarded as a flop which I disagree with, as I personally enjoyed the film. But everyone has different tastes right? Just like music. Now Savage Honeymoon is like a prequel to the fantastic TV show "Outrageous Fortune" & the two formats are very similar, including a character in "Outragous Fortune" called none other than Gary Savage. West's & Savage's together, a dream come true for all WESTIES. Even if people disagree with me, at least Im quite sure that people would agree is the song from Savage Honeymoon .... The Feelers "As Good as It Gets" its a Kiwi classic.
The Feelers are a New Zealand Rock band formed in the early 1990s in Christchurch by James Reid (singer/guitarist), Matthew Thomas (Bass) and Hamish Gee (Drums). The Feelers got a record deal with Warner Music and released their first album, Supersystem, in 1998. It was the second biggest selling album in New Zealand that year. They later went on to win Album of the Year, Song Writer of the Year (James Reid), Band of the Year, and Producer of the Year (Malcolm Welsford) at the New Zealand Music Awards in 1999. The band then went into a period of silence until 2001 when their second album Communicate was released. Noted songs from that album include "Communicate," "The Web," and "Fishing for Lisa." Their 2003 album, Playground Battle, was seen by some as a new direction for the band. Some feel that the band is having difficulty meeting the standards of their first two albums, whilst others view the changes as a sign of the band's musical versatility. The Feelers have toured extensively around New Zealand, Australia, USA and Europe. On November 13th 2006, The Feelers released their 4th studio album entitled One World. The album debuted at number one on the New Zealand Album Charts, and also went Platinum in its first week of release. ~ [Source:Wikipedia]
